Dr Diana Albarran Gonzalez is a designer, educator, researcher, craftivist, currently the Programme Director of the PhD in Design at Waipapa Taumata Rau | University of Auckland. Her research explores different ways of collaboration from decolonial, intersectional, and pluriversal perspectives, interested in collective well-being, Indigenous knowledge, craft-design-art, textiles, embodiment, and creativity. With over 20 years of international experience, she integrates a meaningful sense of cultural awareness and sensitivity in different contexts, bringing a diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) lens to design practice. She holds a PhD in Indigenous Development and Design, a Master’s degree in Design Management and a Bachelor’s in Industrial Design.
