I have worked in education for many years, at all levels of the curriculum. I am primary, secondary, and tertiary trained. In the last two decades I have taught in Foundation Studies, ESOL, Communication, Research, Te Tiriti o Waitangi, Literacy, Te Tuara, Business Services, Secondary and Tertiary Teaching. I completed my PhD in Education in 2020 with the University of New England. I earned the Chancellors Doctoral Research Medal.
I was a Lead Educator for the Second Life Education in New Zealand project in 2009, and used virtual worlds as a resource for teaching for many years. I created a game in Kitely, a virtual world, designed to bridge gaps in written literacy (The Mythical World of Hīnātore).
I started at Waipapa Taumata Rau in 2021, on a casual contract with Te Puna Wānanga. In 2022, I moved to Ranga Auaha Ako as a Learning Designer. I have enjoyed this new challenge and love assisting lecturers in building learning resources that will engage and motivate students.
I have a passion for computers and I love being creative. I come from a family of dancers, writers, and artists. My greatest achievement is my six amazing children.
