Haiping joined the Department of Economics in July 2016. Prior to this, he held positions as Assistant Professor of Economics at Singapore Management University (2007-2016), visiting research fellow at the Centre for European Integration Studies (2007-2013), and post-doc researcher at the Institute for International Economics, Bonn University (2005-2007). He received his PhD in Economics from the University of Bonn in 2006. His research focuses on macroeconomics, international finance and trade, and economic development.
